West Potomac Academy's Health and Medical Science students were invited to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital for a Careers in Health Care Symposium, Tuesday, October 17, 2017, in the evening from 5:00-7:30 PM.  Over 60 students attended the Symposium Event.  The goal was for students interested in the Health Care Profession to have the opportunity to explore a variety of career pathways within the Health Care Industry, learn how the careers are interrelated, and be able to ask the experts questions.  Students met with professionals from Health Care Administration/Finance, Biomedical/Engineering, Information Technology, Lab, Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition/Food Services, Pastoral Care, Pharmacy, Radiology, Rehabilitation, and Surgical Services.  They also participated in an interactive tour of the following hospital departments:  Lab, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Outpatient Rehabilitation.  

The Symposium Event was sponsored in partnership between Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and West Potomac Academy, A Governor's Health Sciences Academy.
