Criminal Justice hosts several Guest Speakers throughout the school year and actively participate in real life problem solving scenarios supporting learning and making the real life connection.

This Spring, here are a few organizations who visited WPA and gave informative/interactive presentations to students:

Fairfax County Police Department’s Bomb Squad visited our criminal justice classes.  They brought their truck and the bomb dog to show the students.

Fairfax County Police Department’s Motor Squad visited our classes. They showed the students their motorcycles and performed a radar demonstration on Quander Road during their presentation.

Virtual Crime Scene-  Students also participated in virtual crime scene simulations and learned appropriate skills for handling a gun.

Mock Town Hall - Students were given roles in the community, issues in the community, and acted out their role to solve their issues in a Town Hall Role Play.  The students were actively engaged, prepared videos/pictures, dressed their part, and debated community issues effectively.
