Medical Assistant Hearing & Vision Screening Externships

Medical Assistants participated as Hearing and Vision Screeners at FCPS Schools; Edison, Hayfield, Mount Vernon, South County and West Potomac High Schools.  And this year we added middle schools;  Key, Sandburg and Whitman, and an elementary school; Gunston.  

Students were trained to conduct the hearing and vision screening exams and worked under the supervision of the Public Health Nurses, Fairfax County Health Department’s School Health Program. Students are earning Externship and Service Learning Hours from their experiences.
