As part of the Academy Dance Master Class Program, students were visited virtually by NYC based performer, director, choreographer and educator, Adolpho Blaire.  He presented a series of speaking engagements to students about careers in Dance and hosted a virtual mock dance audition.  He educated students on the career paths for a dancer:  musical theater, commercial dancer, and company dancer.  Then discussed next steps after high school and how to search for the correct dance program to further their career.  Finally, Adolpho reviewed the audition process for a dancer in a variety of scenarios.  His next virtual visit was a full mock audition for a “commercial” where students would be auditioning for a back up dancer role.  The students were great asking questions, learning the choreography.  They broke into partners and performed.  There was also an improv section of the audition where students were asked to just dance and show their personality and what they can do.  Following the audition process, Adolpho gave students feedback just as in a real audition.
